Microsofts Photosynth is without question a technology to watch and CNN have pushed it to a new level with their capture of the moment Barack Obama placed his hand on the bible and took the presidential oath of office.

    I was really looking forward to this photosynth, but disappointed once I saw it. 100’s of photos of the same thing from different angles in this instance just isn’t interesting. It doesn’t provide more information than just 2 images. A wide shot & a close up.

    I found the NYT panoramic virtual tour far more interesting & powerful:
