Realtime RSS in Second Life

As part of our continuing work to investigate real time or near real time feeds into Second Life we now have a RSS feed running on a text board within our section of Second Nature Island.

Joel at CASA has written a script to link each prim to a text character allowing any feed to be displayed on a ticker board. At the moment the board is rigged up to the BBC feed, updating every 20 seconds with the latest news on a 24 x 10 display.

At the moment it only supports RSS but we are working on a Atom related version.

If you have Second Life installed you can visit us by clicking here – you will get a red arrow pointing skywards, simply fly up to our section of Second Nature island.

Posts – Photo Overlay Creator

A quick update on posts – we are just completing the tutorial for the forthcoming Google Earth PhotoOverlay Tool.

Once that is done we just need to get the download form in place and licensing information, fingers crossed that will be later on this afternoon.

PhotoOverlay Creator is a free tool to place images and panoramas into Google Earth using the KML overlay method.

Just to let you know we are doing something behind the scenes and not just being lazy and not posting…

The softwares good btw…..
