Michael from Metromapper.org sent us in an interesting link to a movie detailing a new game entitled Prototype by Radical Entertainment.

Of note is the 1:1 recreation of New York City with developers taking 22,000 photos to get it right, capturing the city as it was in 2007. The movie below provides both a preview of the game and an interview with the developers:

Capturing a city requires a photographic survey, but once the 22,000 photos are in place it can create a unique archive of the city at the point of creation. Combine this with open game play and its looking like an impressive digital version of New York.

The game is scheduled for release on PC, PS3 and XBox 360 in 2008 – date yet to be confirmed.

Thanks for the info Michael…
